Where: At small luxury hotel Minos Beach at Agios Nikolaos Crete, Greece.
Why Go: For its idyllic ambience, the alfresco dining gazing the deep blue sea, the fine seafood dishes.

La Bouillabaisse, Minos Beach Art Hotel

La bouillabaise is a French Fine Cuisine restaurant that has been there forever.
I remember myself as a kid, holidaying at Elounda & Saint Nicolas Bay in Crete enjoying delicious fish soups.

The restaurant has had its days of glory, having received for 11 consecutive years The Toque D’or.
Nowadays there has been a great effort to improve the menu and the wine list and I must admit things are looking up.

I enjoyed a light dinner consisting of scallops, prawns, crayfish and lobster plus all of the desserts in miniatures.

  • What I really liked:
    The wine list. The best Cretan wine producers feature on the wine list and I certainly enjoyed some good Cretan wine from the Lyrarakis & Douloufakis wineries.
    The good quality of the sea food
    The amazing bread
    The View
    The Degustation menu & the set lobster menu are really nice in case you are visiting the restaurant for the 1st time.
  • What I am looking forward to next time:
    To see the young chef rising to his potential and letting go in order to create more impressive dishes, presentation & taste wise.
