Even though Ifestioni Restaurant may not be your usual suspect in terms of “fine dining – caldera views” when in Santorini,
it is definitely a go-to destination if you are after a taste of Greek revisited dishes paired with great Greek wines AND at this
point may I add that the chef prepares extraordinary breakfasts based on Greek themes 3 days a week.
I tried the Cycladic breakfast that contained savory and sweet dishes typical of the Cyclades and the Cretan one
that was equally delicious and made my breakfast experience kind of more interesting each day because there was always
something new and something typical of the region coming fresh straight from the territory.
I personally love all different island delicacies and cuisines with a particular love for the Cycladic cuisine.
Santorini which belongs to the Cyclades is the mother of the equivalent Greek cucina povera, the island’s barren land produces amazing produce such as the Santorinian cherry tomato, the fava beans, white eggplants, capers, amazing vegetables, barley and grapes of course that make the wine the island is known for.
At Ifestioni go for the homemade bread and great selection of Olive oils, the grilled white eggplant with the tomato tartar and the sheep’s milk yogurt, the tuna tartar, the prawn carpaccio, the Santorini Garden salad with the smoked eel and the fish of the day.
Do not leave without tasting the black forest, the lemon dessert and the banoffee tart!
