WHAT: Brand new 5 star contemporary city hotel, member of the Autograph Collection
WHERE: 38 Acadimias St. Downtown Athens
WHY GO: For the superb lobby with an impressive bar as you enter the hotel on your right and a cozy sitting area with sophisticated interiors on a black and white marble background
PIECE DE RESISTANCE: The “PNOE” Spa & The A Suite
“I am not an Athenian nor a Greek… but a citizen of the world” as quoted by Socrates – a quote featuring on the lobby of the hotel
along with other “good living” “love life” famous philosophical quotes coming from Ancient Greek philosophers – a quote I said to my mother when I was
8 years old – god knows where on earth had I picked it up from- but when encountering the exact same quote written on black marble as I walked in the hotel
made me think about the true essence of modern hospitality and how its very essence reflected on that specific hotel, designed with an effortless sense of style, a place that wins you over from the first second, making you feel instantly as part of this stylish yet warm ambience.
Academia of Athens encompasses the cosmopolitan air of a 21st century contemporary, “soft-luxury” I would say city hotel AND the art of living taught by the Ancient Greeks.
The Interiors ooze sophistication in an effort to bring to life Plato’s Academy blending the old and the new, awakening all the senses, echoing the spirit of the academy and its 3 main principles – Science, Art & Philosophy.

Launching the notion of “bistronomique cuisine” in the Athenian culinary scene, Symposium restaurant harmoniously blends exquisite fine dining with casual sophistication. Expertly curated by Michelin awarded restauranteur Apostolos Trastellis, Symposium proposes a surprising gastronomic journey, with a menu based primarily on Mediterranean influences and reinvented through the use of supreme local ingredients and delicacies.
