La Citta Eterna, has always been a unique destination, a must visit European capital for most Americans and the perfect weekend getaway for us Europeans.
The first time I remember myself walking on its pebbled streets, I felt that love was in the air, a seductive vibe that made me wish
that one day i would like to live there.
…Be careful what you wish for, they say, cause ten years later I found my self packing my bags to go and live there.
At last I was thinking to my self, enough of the London weather, I ll be drinking capuccinos, jog at Villa Borghese and have apperitivos all night long.
To my surprise the eternal city wasn’t that eternal and alive as I expected it to be.
Nevertheless if there is will, there is a way, and I have discovered everything that a tourist should know, in order not to feel a tourist.
Begin your day early in the morning, go up Piazza di Spagna and just sit for a while at the entrance of Villa Borghese.
The view on your left is one of the most astonishing, overlooking the whole city.
Jog or go for a brisk walk around the Villa, there are a couple of cafes where you can stop for a quick espresso.
In case you want to visit the museum, call first and book your tickets in advance.
Enjoy a typical collazione.
I love having breakfast in Rome. Open air cafes, fantastic piazzas, one of a kind waiters>
I used to protest that everything was a blast from the past. The tablecloths, the interiors, the menus.
Now i look forward to that couleur local.
