What: Spilia Restaurant-Seafood Restaurant by the sea.
Where: Agia Anna Kalafatis beach, Mykonos
Why Go: For the most idyllic meal on the island
Who Goes: Here you will see a very international beautiful crowd.
Spilia restaurant at Mykonos’ Agia Anna Beach has been there forever, famous, for its lobster pasta and sea food dishes.
The restaurant has had its ups and downs and changed hands over the years but the past 2 years it has been one of the IT places on the island.
The location is absolutely fabulous, tucked in a cove literally on the sea with beautiful round tables and a menu full of local delicacies and seafood.
You are going to love the music, the idyllic ambience and the warm staff.
Now the menu consists of a great variety of starters like baked mussels, shrimps with avocado, oysters, scallops, tuna & sea bass tartare, crab, calamari, sea urchins.
I really loved all the salads from the crab salad to the baby vegetables, the taramosalata is definitely one of the best on the island.
For a main you can either go for a sea food pasta with impressive lobster linguine or just lobster, shrimps, fresh fish on the grill.
Overall the food is good but I had higher expectations.
The sea urchin linguini had less than acceptable quantity of sea urchins and the tuna fillet although nicely cooked was not the best piece of fish.
The desserts were so so and apart from the very nice starters and the appetizing menu I was left with the impression that they can do much better with regards to the execution of the dishes.
I would give it a 6/10 with a potential of reaching an 8/10
