Wine & Nespresso coffee varieties degustation event
Enlightening, fun & tasteful, another yet Nespresso tasting, different to the rest, more than interesting to attend.
Last week, food & lifestyle journalists were invited in one of Nespresso’s jewels, the Kolonaki square Nespresso shop, to meet sommelier Apostolos Plahoura and get to know deeper the decaf varieties of Nespresso.
To our amazement we went through a “very much to the point parallel degustation” of both coffee and wine that I can only describe as a joyful journey between the wooden, cocoa and chocolate hues of Arpeggio and the equivalent aroma of Ktima Aivali, a splendid Agiotgitiko red wine and proceeded to the tasting of my beloved rounded, light, biscuity Volluto, along with a 2013 Ktima Douloufaki – a medium bodied Greek white wine with balanced acidity and hazelnut, citrus, lemon zest notes and a slight vanilla after-taste just like Volluto.
Through this parallel journey between coffee and wine, we have definitely realized why is it, that we like, certain Nespresso varieties but mostly what are the foods and small treats that go with the varieties of coffee we love and how equally tasteful all decaf Nespresso varieties can be.
