Lake Como – Villa D’Este – Italia
Written By Lena Harizopoulos
Lake Como….the place where it all first started – the place where I drew inspiration from and I begun to write.
The truth is Lake Como has been an inspiration for tons of artists, politicians, writers, aristocrats for years & years now and is no wonder how its intense fairytale serenity evokes dreamy feelings that make you wanna instantly create.
From Stendhal, to Puccini, Rossini, Leonardo Da Vinci and Verdi who composed La Traviata at Lake Como, to modern age heroes like Hitchcock, JFK and lately George Clooney, they had all found refugee in the sweet arms of that vivid countryside.
A narrow, 30-mile-long lake, home to the iconic Villa D’Este Hotel, lake Como has always been a unique retreat ideal for early summer getaways.
Villa D’este is definitely along the best hotels in the Mediterranean, an absolute opulent hotel jewel boasting 25 acres of magnificent gardens with timeless statues and landscape that have been photographed for centuries.
The rooms are 152 with 3 Private Villas, tennis courts, a spa and terrific indoor and outdoor restaurants.
The swimming pool right on the lake along with the fine cuisine served at the restaurants and the immaculate service for years now, make all the difference.
Villa D’Este, Via Reggina, Cernobbio, Italia.
